Aura® P Absolute Encoders
Aura P extends the proven Aura Optical Encoder Series with a connectivity‑ready, high‑resolution absolute encoder built onto a super‑compact OEM PCB. It preserves the series’ hallmark accuracy, run‑speed capability, and wide alignment tolerances, while simplifying installation and system integration to accelerate time‑to‑market.
Aura uses a short‑wavelength LED and advanced sensor architecture to deliver precise absolute position decoding. Its incremental scale track generates exceptionally pure sine‑wave signals, enabling high‑resolution interpolation and mechanical run speeds up to 83,721 rpm (18 mm scale). The result is high accuracy, excellent repeatability, and stable performance for demanding motion‑control applications.
The low‑power SMT package is now integrated directly onto a ready‑to‑use PCB, reducing design effort and eliminating custom carrier development. A high‑speed BiSS‑C interface provides the low latency required for modern high‑bandwidth control loops. Generous alignment tolerances streamline installation, while built‑in scale eccentricity compensation removes the need for dual‑averaging encoders and improves production efficiency.
SmartPrecision™ III software supports calibration, alignment, and status monitoring, with the ability to sample and export encoder data to CSV. For even faster assembly, hubs with pre‑mounted encoder scales are available.
