Mercury II 6000 Encoders

Ultra‑Compact, High‑Resolution Digital Encoder System

The Mercury II 6000 series delivers ultra‑high resolution, excellent accuracy, and exceptional short‑range precision in one of the smallest encoder sensors available. At only 8.1 mm high, the sensor fits into extremely tight mechanical envelopes while supporting both linear and rotary applications using tape, glass, or rotary scales.

Programmable resolutions from 5 µm down to 1.2 nm, combined with accuracy up to ±1 µm, enable precise motion control in demanding systems. Short‑range accuracy of ±20 nm ensures smooth velocity feedback, making the series ideal for compact stages, piezo‑driven mechanisms, voice‑coil actuators, optical assemblies, and nanomanufacturing tools.

The encoder outputs a digital A‑quad‑B signal with index and limits, and interpolation up to ×16,384 is performed directly in the connector. The combination of small size, high performance, and flexible scale compatibility makes the Mercury II 6000 a versatile solution for advanced motion platforms.
